Launched in collaboration with Advanced Solutions Technical Institute in July,2020, The JD CARN Technical Training Centre has as its main objective:

“To maximize human potential of the citizenry through focused training and development.”

This translates to:

Award Programmes

These courses provide an introduction to the area of study and credits to attend international universities that recognizes Ofqual and EduQual accreditation.

Duration: 18hours

  1. Award in Fibre Optic Technologies
  2. Award in Cabling and Networking
  3. Introduction to Cabling and Networking Certificate
  4. Award in CCTV and IP Technologies

Certificate Programmes

Tuition + Exam Fee: $173,600

Duration: 40hrs

These courses are designed to ensure theoretical knowledge and practical competence in the chosen area. These also provide credits to attend international universities that recognizes Ofqual and EduQual accreditation.

  1. Certificate in Fibre Optic Installation
  2. Certificate in Communications Cabling and Networks
  3. Certificate in Alarms and Security Systems
  4. Certificate in IP Camera Installation and Maintenance

Professional Certification awarded by Electronic Technicians Association (ETA)

Duration: 40hrs

These courses are designed to ensure theoretical knowledge and practical competence in the chosen area. Specific focus is placed on preparation for the respective ETA exams.

Specialized Courses

Tuition: $651,000

Exam: USD 167.50 for all ETA components of the bundle

Duration: 3 months

These courses provide Competency Based Training and are designed to take the learners from no work or training experience to a well-rounded technician. They include the rudiments of customer service training, Safety and Quality management.

Outside Plant Technician

Students will be eligible to write the following exams:

  1. EduQual – Introduction to Fibre Optic Technologies Certificate
  2. Electronic Technicians Association – Fibre Optic Installer (FOI)
  3. Electronic Technician Association – Fibre Optic Technician, Outside Plant (FOT-OSP)

 

Service Delivery Technician

Students will be eligible to write the following exams:

  1. EduQual – Introduction to Cabling and Networking Certificate
  2. Electronic Technicians Association – Data Cabling Installer
  3. Electronic Technician Association – Certified Access Security Technician
  4. Electronic Technician Association – R.E.S.I (CCTV)
